NEW Online Winter talk series
The Museum of Royal Worcester is back with another year of cosy winter online talks, where you can enjoy seasonal insights into Worcester’s porcelain heritage from the comfort of home every second Wednesday of the month, for free!
For our first talk on Wednesday 13th November at 6pm (on Zoom), Glyndebourne Opera House chef Cordula Peters will share her interesting research on Egg Coddlers. Popular in the 70’s and 80’s egg coddlers are nowadays quite cherished collectibles. They have become sought after trinkets in charity shops, flea markets, antique stores, and online shops. But where did the idea of egg coddlers originate? In this talk, you will discover the fascinating story about the invention of the egg coddler, Royal Worcester’s role in popularising them in the UK and across the world, other manufacturers of egg coddlers, and about the many intricate designs making them a desirable feature on any breakfast table.
You will also learn how to coddle the perfect egg and different recipes to try out at home.
Reserve your spot today and enjoy a season full of engaging history, art and culture!
In later months, we have food historian and chef Dr Neil Buttery delivering a talk on festive pies and puddings, antique specialist John Sandon sharing memories and anecdotes of his father Henry Sandon, and much more.
