Description | Plate with back compartment to hold water and two filling tubes with gold and cork stoppers. Underglaze blue border with embossed floral decoration and central hand painted flower. In 1820 two magnificent services were made for His Highness Willajah Nabob Auzum Jar of the Carnatic, Madras. This is a hot water plate from the blue service which is decorated with copies of Botanical illustrations taken from Curtis’s Botanical magazine. |
