Description | Gilded gadroon edge with underglaze blue ground and six panels edged with gold and jewelling filled with paintings of the Orders of the Garter. This is a sample plate from an extensive dessert service made at the Flight, Barr and Barr factory to celebrate the Coronation of King William IV in 1831.The jewelled panels enclosing the Orders of the Garter were hand painted over an outline print, probably by John Bly. The service is now at Windsor Castle. |
