The apprentices went weekly to the Victoria institute, behind the library, to be taught painting, drawing, design, and they had yearly exhibitions and prizes. In the 1920s the apprentices of the time were often badly behaved, preferring to play football in the yard, for more details see ‘The Terrible Seven’ in Royal Worcester Porcelain.
