Richard William Binns retirement

Mr Binns retired from the factory in 1897 and was presented with an illuminated address in book from (see Royal Worcester Porcelain by Henry Sandon). A serious illness in 1891 had slowed him down physically but he continued to make the short but painful journey from his home to the factory regularly.  His final work of scholarship was the book Worcester China, a record of the years 1851 to 1897. He died on  28th December 1900.  Mr Binns is in the centre of the photograph.
