Description | Tall slim vase and cover with matt blue ground painted with swans in flight on the front and four small birds on reverse. Two handles, ribbed neck and cover decorated in green and gold. Raised gold grasses. This elegant vase was painted with Swans in flight by Charles Balwyn. The design was so popular that it was registered with Stationers Hall in 1893 to try to prevent other companies copying the style. |
