ladies of the porcelain – talk by historian colin millett
A historian and collector of Worcester Porcelain for over 40 years, Colin Millett, is well qualified to share his unique and enchanting knowledge of ‘the Porcelain’. In his talk – Ladies of the Porcelain, you’ll hear the remarkable stories of the women of Worcester porcelain. This entertaining hour is based on extensive research and firsthand accounts about the ladies of the Porcelain who worked hard, were talented, funny and clever and who made a significant contribution to the international success of Royal Worcester.
Colin explains:
“In a male environment the ladies knew they needed not only to be as good as their male counterparts but have ambitions to be better!”
This is an opportunity to lose yourself in Colin’s anecdotes, facts, figures and figurines. An entertaining hour with plenty of chances for questions, bringing to life Colin’s new book of the same name ‘Ladies of the Porcelain – Royal Worcester lady modellers and painters’. The book is priced at £9.95 and available to purchase from the Museum Shop.
